This is the first time i am comparing Hoka bondi X with the Hoka bondi 7.
Running is an exhilarating form of exercise that is enjoyed by millions of people worldwide. However, not all runners are alike. Some have flat feet, some have high arches, some are heavy-set, and some are light. Each person’s feet are unique, and therefore, the shoes they wear for running should also be tailored to their individual needs.
This is where Hoka Bondi X and Bondi 7 come into the picture. Hoka has been a go-to brand for runners who want comfort, stability, and durability in their shoes. The Hoka Bondi X and Bondi 7 are two of their most popular models, but choosing between them can be a very challenging as both of them are top of the line shoe from Hoka.
In this article, we will compare the Hoka Bondi X and Bondi 7, highlighting their similarities and differences.
So, let’s start the comparison with a quick overview of these two shoes:

Hoka Bondi X vs Bondi 7: Sole
Bondi X: Designed to give me plenty of cushion and protection from the ground, while still allowing for a powerful toe-off. Its 33.5mm heel stack height is on par with other max-cushioned shoes, and its early stage Meta-Rocker helps to quicken transitions. The stiff carbon plate in the midsole keeps the shoe from flexing, giving me the feeling of saving energy.
Bondi 7: Made of compression-molded EVA foam, which is common in Hoka’s shoes. While EVA foam does not offer the same amount of energy return as TPU or Pebax foams, its medium-firm density makes it more versatile, so that it feels like a daily trainer rather than a max-cushioned one.
I found the Bondi 7 to be well suited for easy-paced runs between 10 and 20 kilometres. It was too firm for me to use as a recovery run shoe and even for my long runs, but it was perfect for middle-distance runs.
Hoka Bondi X vs Bondi 7: Upper
Bondi X: I was pleasantly surprised by the upper of the Bondi X. It is made of a lightweight, yet flexible mesh material with 3D hotmelt yarns that allow it to be breathable even in warm weather.
The tongue of the shoe is asymmetrical and lightly padded, but unfortunately slides downward during runs. Though I didn’t love the orange Hoka logo that bleeds onto the white laces, the heel tab and collar lining are padded, though not as densely as the Bondi 7.
Bondi 7: The upper is made from a multi-layer engineered mesh, which offers average breathability. There are thin overlay strips around the perimeter of the toe box and midfoot for extra structure and protection, however, the fit is very narrow and I would recommend going for the wide version, even for those with narrow feet. The toe box height is okay, but the width is too snug and can be uncomfortable during runs.
Hoka Bondi X vs Bondi 7: Performance
Bondi X: I’m really impressed with the performance of the Bondi X. It has a sleek and stylish design that turns heads wherever I go. The most impressive part of the Bondi X is its range, which can go up to 500 miles on a single charge.
This makes it perfect for long rides, and I can get to my destination without worrying about running out of power. The Bondi X is a reliable and powerful scooter that I can rely on for my transportation needs.
Bondi 7: I recently participated in the Bondi 7 performance and it was an amazing experience. The course was beautiful, the energy was palpable and the atmosphere was electric. It was an incredible feeling to be a part of the group and to work together to complete the 7 miles.
I was so proud of myself for pushing through and completing the race, and it was definitely a moment that I will never forget. Running the Bondi 7 was an incredible experience and it felt like I could go 500 miles!
Hoka Bondi X vs Bondi 7: Price and Final Verdict
Bondi X: The current price of the Hoka Bondi X is $200.
Bondi 7: It is currently being sold for around $150.
Verdict: After comparing Hoka Bondi X and Hoka Bondi 7, I am here to announce that Hoka Bondi X is the winner.
Why?
Hoka Bondi X offers a unique blend of cushioning, responsiveness and stability that make it ideal for a variety of running surfaces. It also has a snug fit that provides excellent support and prevents your feet from slipping around when running.
On the other hand, Hoka Bondi 7 offers good stability and cushioning, but lacks the responsiveness and snug fit of the X. Therefore, I can safely say that Hoka Bondi X offers a better all-round running experience than the Hoka Bondi 7.
